Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.

The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet

And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.

[ Ino's on the dancefloor, swaying more than dancing with her very non-virgin cocktail in hand, trying not to spill it on herself or anyone else. Her usual ponytail is gone, replaced instead with a complicated-looking chignon to match her costume, her bangs, of course, covering one side of her mask. She was trying to forget what had happened, and so far, it was working fairly well. At least for now.

Maybe later she'll sit at a table, a small plate in front of her filled with only a small amount of food, another drink in front of her. ]

Careful.

[The word comeswith gentle humor, perhaps even a light smile -- though it would be impossible to tell, given its owner's mask. Ashitaka is dressed rather unimaginatively in his own clothes, his mask drawn up over the lower half of his face. (Although, in his defense, when you come from very early Japan, there aren't many options of what to be.)]

[His hand reaches out briefly to steady Ino's -- the one with her glass. He'd just been passing through, really, but he thought he'd recognized her.]

[Or maybe the legs were hard to forget. Who knew?]

Oops! [ She laughs, turning her head to him. He looks familiar... then again, considering this was a party filled with only newcomers, that would explain it. Her eyes travel down his costume, and she takes a quick sip before speaking again. ]

Samurai, yeah?

[A split instant of pause. It's not correct, but . . . it saves quite a good deal of explanation.]

A ronin, perhaps.

[His eyes flicker over her elaborate hairdo.]

And you are . . . ?

You have to guess! [ She playfully pokes his chest with her finger. ]

[ Hi, Ino, guess who?

Marco sides a seat right next to Ino. ]

What's shaking?

[ Oh, Mister Marco, oh~ ]

Oh, same old, same old. Where's your arm candy? [ She giggles. ]

[Someone's been following at Ino for the past fifteen minutes or so. Why it's none other than Alouette whom has arrived as a masked archer. The moment she'd seen the geisha, there was a feeling of familiarity, and she just had to figure out who the other blonde is. She had to! So don't mind her being a little creeper at the moment, hiding behind other people or tables on occassion.]

[ Her senses weren't dulled, and it wasn't hard to tell that somebody was creeping. She stops suddenly, glancing over her shoulder with narrowed eyes underneath her mask.

Nothing. It's hard to tell with so many people moving and changing directions for other reasons. But she wasn't wrong... Was she? She was becoming paranoid now, right?

She turns back around, taking a sip of her cocktail. Jeez, maybe she was more affected than she thought... ]

[Oho! It appears that tonight Alouette is the ninja! Blending into her surroundings flawlessly, her impersonation of a party-goer just perfect! However even with all the peeking she just.. Can't figure it out! Ah, but she suddenly had a plan!]

Watch out!

[Alouette loaded up her bow, took a shot into the air, and the slender suction-cup arrow lobbed perfectly to land right onto Ino's table with an almost comedic *shpop* sound.

The archer then makes her way to the table, intending to retrieve the 'rogue' arrow.]

Oh pardon moi, it seems that arrow has a mind of its own, sometimes. I hope it did not cause any trouble.

[ Ino raises an eyebrow at the archer; the voice sounds ... somewhat familiar. Kind of. Almost. She stares at the arrow for a short moment. ]

Good thing it didn't! I'd hate to cause a scene at such a lovely party over a ruined costume.

[Er oops, Alouette didn't even take that possibility into consideration. Well, it didn't happen so that's good!]

Uh-huh. What are you drinking?

[And she eyes Ino critically, paying the glass no mind. She's trying to be subtle but, really, subtlety isn't her strongest suit.]

Daiquiri. [ Ino is only moderately suspicious. It's a party, so random mingling is obviously encouraged! ]

[Er.. She doesn't know what a daiquiri is.]

Oh, I see, it looks rather good, perhaps I shall get one later. Pardon moi for asking, but what is your costume? It is quite eye-catching.

I am a warrior archer, myself. I possess the eyes of an eagle and unbeatable marksmanship!

Huh? So I suppose it was just a fluke, then. [ She laughs with a hand in front of her mouth, teasing about the arrow on - or, in - the table. ]

I am a geisha. Incredibly good looks and an air of mystery, yeah? [ She smiles. She's a little vain when she's tipsy. ]

.. Uh!
[It's simply on the table, a slender suction-cup arrow.]

O- Oh, well you see.. I was simply just testing the wind direction, I was not aiming for anything in particular..

[She then brightens, buying it hook, line and sinker.]

Oui! Very good looking and very mysterious! Tres chic'! It comes quite close to putting my costume to shame. And I do not say that to many people, so you should be quite honored.

I feel I have met you before, however. Do you work at the train station?

[ The wind direction... inside? O...k. ]

No, I don't. I do own a flower shop, though! Maybe you've stopped by? Or maybe we've crossed paths on the network. [ Everyone was, after all, a newcomer, to her understanding. ]

[Don't hate, she's that good. Her face lights up in recognition.]

Ah oui! Oui! That was where I, or rather, a friend of mine had purchased numerous flowers from an extremely gentle and handsome young man!

He was only a temporary hire, however, and so it was left a short lived romance, my- or rather, her very first tragic experience with love.

[She shakes her head.]

Anyway! It was not entirely a waste, your boss is just as, how do you say, 'cool'! If you work for her, then you must know a few secrets about how to impress her, non? Name your price!

[Too bad, a certain masked witch is coming up to her, greeting her cheerfully, but a little formally- since she isn't sure if this girl is actually Ino or not.]

Hi there. Can I sit down? [Gesturing at a chair across the table.]

Maybe! It depends. [ She smiles. ]
