Halloween Masquerade Ball

Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.



The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet



And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.



Last call for food is two hours before sirens, and then the last call for drinks is an hour before the party finishes. You might want to be careful when it gets to be that time, though. Around 1:00 am, the party is going to change, due to a series of unfortunate events. You may not be very hungry or thirsty for awhile after.

[Allen kinda grimaces as he does... No that, that really isn't helping the stain at all. And that suit looks like it might be expensive.]

N-no, that was careless of me! I'm sorry, here-- [He scurries back to the buffet line so he can grab a few napkins, still balancing his plate precariously in one hand. And he returns just as quickly to offer the napkins to Jake. Whatever... good they'll do... Er.]

[ Oh well that sure is useful. At least when Jake takes them and starts dabbing it against his vest it does seem to be doing a little more than just smearing it around with his hand was. That doesn't really say much, considering how effective Jake's technique pre-napkin was. ]

Thanks! And really don't worry about it. Just between you and me I'm surprised I haven't managed to dump something on myself before now.

[He blinks at Jake, a bit impressed by how... good-humored this gentleman is. Huh.

Well, so long as he's okay with it.]

All right...

[And he puts on a slight smile, glancing down at Jake's plate.] So you've already tried some of the buffet?

[gunsling]

[ He's not exactly careful with most of his clothing. He can hardly expect other people to be careful with them when he can't be asked to bother.

Jake takes a look down at his own plate and grins sheepishly. It sure does look like he's been packing his plate, doesn't it? Well... ]

I've sampled a little of most of it by this point, actually.

[It's cool, not like he'd judge.]

Me, as well.

It's an impressive ball. [He glances around the room, with a smile.] I hadn't known they held events like there here.

[ Jake takes a glance around himself, nodding in agreement whether Allen is looking at him or not. ]

Well I remember something around Valentine's day, but I haven't really gone to any of these fancy dress up parties since then, so I couldn't tell you how often they go down. Admittedly the first time I only went because I was dragged along to it.
