Who: The Newcomer Political Party and The Newcomers!
When: October 27th, 7:00pm till Morning Sirens.
Where: The Newcomer Community Center
Summary: Time for some Halloween Masquerade Fun!
Warnings: Anything is possible!

The Community Center has been transformed into a sophisticated autumn dance hall, with bits of Halloween decorations around the room. When the door opens, you find yourself in the hall before the main room, someone ready to take your coat, if you have one, and another ready to give out bracelets. That way no one who shouldn't be drinking won't be able to.

The dance floor is surrounded by a number of small, round tables, each with an elaborate centerpiece of cobwebs. There are lights within the hanging decorations, with draped fabric over the sides, to give it a more close knit feeling. At the head of all the tables is a bar serving free drinks and cocktails to anyone over age. There is also a buffet

And then, of course, there is the dance floor, where people are dancing to the music supplied by two talented DJs, lights blinking and the room ready for everyone to have a good time.

[What the hell are you talking about? Dirk's interests are perfectly normal for a teen his age. Music, gaming, ponies, fancy Santa statues, robots... Robots that look almost identical to yourself, ventriloquist dummies and... Okay, we'll just stop that right there.

Dirk wouldn't be surprised by Jake's familiarity with the series, he's pretty sure Jake probably has a copy of it up there on a shelf along with Flash Gordon and Dune.]

[Good call Jake, Dirk takes no offence as he recalled Beast man as a burt orange hue, if not a little bulky and well.. hairy.]

[ Yes, so normal. All kids enjoy ventriloquist dummies, fancy Santas, and ponies! ... Okay, so ponies is a bad example, lots of kids like ponies, but not in the same way! Jake's point remains.

Also Dune is so good, dude. You don't even know. The spice must flow.

Jake scoffs at Dirk's comment, putting a hand to his chin, or the chin of his mask anyways, pretending to contemplate this question for a moment. ]

Now that you mention it, they might be a little sharper than comes standard for most people.

[-And those kids who liked MLP were at least 20% cooler than the rest.

Dune is shit, all those old school movies were shit. What Jake needed to watch was some SB&HJ on the silver screen, now there was a movie worth watching.]

Well you know me, sharp as they come.

[ Jake may be inclined to disagree with that. Then again, he's never really watched the show, so what does he know? He'd probably enjoy it if he gave it the time of day.

Sort of like how Dirk clearly need to rewatch Dune to be able to appreciate true artistic beauty. That said, however, he wouldn't disagree with the merits of SB&HJ. He did love him some Strider classics. ]

I'll say! You might want to watch those things or you're liable to cut someone.

[He'd have to enjoy it, Dirk would actually make him watch every single episode until he found one he liked.

Its a deal, Dirk will watch Dune with Jake, if Jake will give SB&HJ a try!]

That's my secret, my speed keeps me moving so fast, that only the cuts I intend to make are the ones that last.

[ That sounds like it could be considered cruel and unusual punishment for anyone that doesn't care of the show. Are you sure you want to torture your best friend in order to drag a possibly less than sincere confession of enjoying the show out of him?

He can promise that he'll enjoy the SB&HJ movies though. He sure has enjoyed what he's seen of the franchise so far, and can only imagine it'll get better as they go. ]

That sounds downright deadly.

[That's a good point, but even if you didn't enjoy it, Dirk would and he'd enjoy watching it with you too, so its really a win win situation for Dirk. Not that it's going to happen any time soon of course.

And good call, on the SB&HJ thing, Strider's world wide would shed a tear of joy in knowing people from all walks of life are enjoying their ironies and the dangers of falling down stairs.]

[ It's not for Jake though! There is a very real possibility this could be a losing situation for this. he's not sure how he feels about the entire thing.

It's true, appreciating it enough to possibly get his very own tattoo of the work? That's a decision to reflect on later in life, however, if he's ever so bold to display his own affection for the quirky franchise in a mimicry of his best bro. That just seems so unlikely! ]

Well keep those things holstered for the night. We've got impressions to make here.

[If there ever came a time that Jake did partake in a little inking of his sun kissed skin, Dirk would be there, in a flashstep. Heck, he'd even want to ink that bad boy in himself after all, it would look more genuine coming from the hand of a Strider and all.

Jake's last comment made Dirk silence a chuckle as he part smirked, giving his best bro a thumbs up and a nod.]

Can do.

[ Jake may or may not let Dirk be the one to supply the tattoo if such a thing where to take place. The jury is still out on that whole matter.

Jake grins back, and reaches over to clap Dirk on the shoulder in a display of friendly approval and appreciation for that promise. ]

I'm sure all the party goers will thank you for that.

[Dirk smiled with a nod to the clap on his back, reaching up and giving Jake a pat of his own.]

Y'know what else the party goers will thank me for?

[He wasn't even really going to give Jake the chance to back down. His arm was gripped by the elbow and the jungle boy was pulled out into the dance floor.]

Busting killer moves on the floor.

[You're not going to leave him hanging, are you Jake?]

[ Well Jake admits he hadn't expected to be asked for a dance. For a solid few moments Jake really does debate leaving Dirk hanging here, because he's got no idea what he's doing out here. He's never danced in his life, discounting his personal little jigs and dance numbers he did on his island where no one could see what a doofus he really was.

The problem was he didn't have enough sense to care about making an ass out of himself. So while the fleeting thought of turning and running the other way from this occurs to him, Jake lets himself get dragged out, glancing around to try and see how he's even supposed to go about this dancing thing here. ]

[It wasn't as if Dirk was used to such social events, he'd only ever seen them in movies or in history books, they were on the same level of discomfort and confusion about what to do at a gig like this, the difference between Jake, Dirk and the rest of the crowed, was that these guys didn't really care if anyone was looking, thinking odd of them. Beside, Dirk really just wanted to hang and have a laugh with his best bro.] </small>

I can confidently say, no one will have a fucking clue on how to prepare for us.

[ Yes, the general lack of giving a shit when it came to the opinions of others did tend to serve a young man well in times of awkward social situations. It helped when I guy could get out on the floor and awkwardly wave his arms around like a buffoon without caring about the strange and questioning looks he would undoubtably get.

And considering Jake was already bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet as he followed after Dirk, there was no doubt about the fact that he was about to bust out some of the clumsiest and most overly theatrical of dance moves. ]

Then lets give them a show!
