When: 12/12/12, beginning at 12:12am and ending around 10pm at night.
Where: Siren's Port, across all sectors
Summary: Everything detailed here is going down, citywide. Panic and chaos ensues as shortly after midnight, everyone in Port loses their special abilities. Is The Core playing a cruel doomsday trick? Or is it something even more sinister?
Warnings: Violence & Civil Unrest. Angry swearing inevitable!

[It's rare that Gilbert sleeps long enough to be woken by his clock's alarm, but hearing her, he's sure that's what it has to be.

Still half asleep, he rolls over on his side and reaches to turn the alarm off, sliding her off and onto the blankets in the process, muttering something incoherent about pastries under his breath.]

[motioned]

[There's an even louder quack of surprise and mild panic. For a second she's worried he'll roll over on top of her, but when there's no pressure after a few seconds, that worry dissipates.

It doesn't change that she's frustrated, though. She starts to quack again, butting her head against his side to try and rouse him further.]

[retraced]

[Wait, the alarm isn't turning off.

It's not turning off and there's someone...poking him? Wait, maybe he's still dreaming. Finally, he cracks one eye open, reaches out to grab whoever is poking him and make them stop, but his hand only touches feathers.

Feathers...

Feathers?

Both eyes snap open then as he stares directly at her, hand on her head, stunned into stupid silence.]

[motioned]

[She backs up far enough that his hand isn't resting on her head anymore and stares back at him, relieved that's he finally woken.]

Quack! Quack!

--A-Ahiru?!

[Gilbert sits up quickly, kicking the blankets off of himself in a hurried rush - ]

[And promptly backs up far enough to tumble backwards onto the floor.]

[motioned]

[Already unstable from the blankets being kicked around, she tumbles off the mattress as he does, landing nicely on his face before rolling off onto the floor. Oops.]

Quack...

[retraced]

[There's a muffled 'mmph?!' as she lands on him. Falling hurts...worse than usual. It's a little unnerving, but he gets over it quickly enough, rolling over to prop himself up on his elbow once she's come to a stop next to him.]

Ahiru?! You're - are you all right?!

[motioned]

[She shakes her head fervently before pausing and nodding. She was probably alright, even if this was horribly inconvenient. As long as she didn't think about the possibility that this could last longer than a few days...]

Quack! Quack!

[retraced]

[He frowns as he watches her, but manages to sit up properly. His normally wavy hair is bedraggled, which makes it look even fluffier than usual. It would be funny if the situation weren't so...odd.]

Sorry, it didn't occur to me that it would affect you like this. I would have checked on you hours ago...

[motioned]

[She shakes her head, trying to assure him that he hasn't done anything wrong. Even though getting out of her room took much longer than she would have liked, she'd rather him have his rest.

She isn't really sure what to say next, though. Maybe she could try to get him to take her to Fakir... But she's not really sure that's something she wants to deal with yet.]

[retraced]

[Yeah, this is...awkward. Isn't it. Probably.]

Wait - who let you in? [He asks, glancing back at the door.]

[motioned]

[She just stares at him a moment, as if to ask - how exactly do you expect me to answer that?]

[retraced]

[He stares at her a moment before it hits him.]

Oh...right. [Okay, new plan.]

It couldn't have been Oz...he would have woken me up. Ciel?

[motioned]

[She shakes her head to both questions, moving a few steps closer to him.]

[retraced]

Ciel's friend - ah, Soma?

[Yes, we're just going to have to go and name every single person in this house, apparently.]

[motioned]

[She shakes her head again, and then pauses before making (what she assumes is) an angry face, but actually just looks kind of ridiculous. If going through the list won't work, maybe she can help pantomime somehow... And this is a perfect way to describe Elliot, clearly.]

--Elliot?

[Oh, he gets it.]

[motioned]

[She nods intently! Good teamwork.]

[retraced]

Hm.

[He actually cracks a small, sad smile. Elliot had helped her, but he still didn't want to see his brother. Eh, he'll accept it for now.]

Oh - you probably haven't eaten anything. Are you hungry?

[motioned]

[She shakes her head in response. Too nervous to be hungry.]

[retraced]

[FROWN.]

Are you sure?

[motioned]

[She nods, and then just kind of slumps over onto him. This is distressing, okay.]

[retraced]

[Tiny duckling, no! Her distress only worries him, and so he reaches down and awkwardly pets her head...because he would do this if she were human. Please don't be offended...!]

It - it'll be all right! Hopefully this is like everything else and won't last long. My contract is also...

[motioned]

[She looks towards him with concern, then, unsure what effect that would really have on him. Could it be possible that he'll be hurt?]
