Teen Titans Practice Run
Who: The Teen Titans
When: Thursday Night, April 5th, 8:00pm.
Where: Titans' Headquarters in the Warehouse in Sector 11.
Summary: First team building exercise!
Warnings: Possible language.
Red Robin had gone and split the group into pairs. They'd have to learn to work with another person before they could figure out how to work as a team. So, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, he'd picked a pretty good match for everyone.
And by match, that meant everyone was paired with their total opposite, except for one team that was going to be a threesome, since one of their members was not going to be a fighter, but more of a medic.
The Groups:
Mugetsu and Superboy and Cambion {Christina Nickson and Superboy and Kurosaki Ichigo)
Ikol and Oathkeeper (Loki and Sora)
Squinky and Imagine Breaker (Guybrush Threepwood and Kamijou Touma)
White Justice and Darkbeat (Momo Himori and Joe Fieldman)
Peregrinus and Grim Couture (Jack Kelly and Kanaya Maryam)
Blood Rose and Kusunoki Masashige (Amy Sorel and Yosuke Hanamura)
Occupational Hazard and Neophyte (Hiccup and Terezi Pyrope)
Sugar Plum and Red Robin (Ahiru and Tim Drake)
There will be four stations throughout this exercise, with everyone rotating between the warehouse, the docks, a sector ll alleyway, and the Titans' headquarters. There will be three different robots to fight, depending on where your team decides to go.
If they go down to the docks, the robots look like this. The tentacle hands will reach out through the water, and you need to destroy them in any way you can. Cutting them off might do the job, or, might not. The objective is to press the red button in the middle of it's body.
If they go to the warehouse, they can see that parts of the floor are covered in spider robots. These shoot little lasers at you from their eyes, and it's hard to reach them all in one go.
If they go down to any alleyway in Sector 11, they'll find that these robots ready to attack from the shadows. While these robots don't move as fast as the others, they make up for that in how heavy and guarded they can be.
And, lastly, once everyone has worked through the three courses, they can come on up to the Titan's Headquarters, sit back on one of the couches, eat some pizza, drink some soda, and just chill and hang out.
Tim does want to meet with each of you individually,. but don't worry! It's all good. He'll address any issues or concerns one on one.

Down to the docks? Sure. Just so I know...you're a good swimmer too, right? In case we end up in the water?

[Sort-of true. Riku grew up on the islands, swam in the waves all the time- as his Replica, all the same skill sets were taken on.]

[She keeps heading towards the docks, slowing down as they near the water.] So. [She suddenly comes to a stop and goes dead quiet, surveying the scene.] If I understand correctly, there should be robots that we will have to fight.
[As if to prove her point, one curious robotic tentacle comes poking out of the water.]
no subject
[His attention turns sharply, at the sound of a mechanical whirr] There!
welp, i'm just gonna switch to hero names. yea.
Okay. We have no advance knowledge of the enemy, their number, or their capabilities. The first priority is to assess the situation. Until we know the effectiveness of our attacks, we should avoid full engagement. [Her diction is precise and coldly analytical, being practiced in giving military reports on the front lines.]
no subject
But her analysis catches him off guard- sounds almost scientific, to him, because he's never heard military jargon before. It makes him glance back at her in surprise.]
Hnh. Well- Well I wasn't going to just rush in-
[Except he sort of... was, but White Justice gives him hesitant pause.]
no subject
Do you have any long-range attacks?
no subject
Should I go for it? Or do you wanna keep scouting for more of them?

[He calls to his stormier emotions, embracing that power until it forms concentrated in his hand, a black and throbbing energy that burns like fire. He hurls that towards the robot hand, when it resurfaces.]
assuming you want me to npc the robot(s) for now? i love doing it, just don't want to be godmody
[Head back in the game, Hinamori.]
[The attack snaps one of the fingers off the robot's hand. Apparently they do have some sort of internal sensor system, because said robot is now pissed off. The water starts to churn as it rises out of the water, and two more arms surface, waving wildly through the air. But a small blinking red light can now be seen in the middle of the robot's body.]
[White Justice watches patiently, though alert, as the robot reacts.] At least it seems to just be this one, for now.
I'm cool with that!
Crouching, Darkbeat whispers] Even if they've got sensors, these things might not even be able to track us so easy. We should see what they can do, how far they'll come out of the water.
:3 feel free to write in any reactions you want, though, at any time
[She fires her own attack, a ball of bright red flaming energy coming from the center of her hand, at a pile of wooden pallets near the water's edge. The pallets explode into flame, pieces dropping all around and into the water.] I hope those weren't important... [But it has the desired effect. The robot swims over to investigate the commotion, hands latching onto the pieces of wood in the water and crushing them until they snap.]
It seems to react to sound, and possibly heat. Our attacks damage, but don't disable it. And those arms look... strong.

Monsters are... fun to fight. There's something very viscerally pleasing in the grossness of flesh and muscle and blood and bone, squelching.
Machines only make him think of Xion, and a haunted look in her eyes, muttering over broken plates on the kitchen floor.] Okay, so-
What's the battle plan! Looks like there's only one, for now.

no subject
So... I'll sneak in closer, then you hit it with some spells- I'll get it while it's distracted. Sound like a good plan?
no subject
[She concentrates, closing her eyes for a moment, then opening them and beginning to mumble the incantation for Bakudo #4: Hainawa. She'll delay releasing it until Joe can get closer. She also begins to think of ways she could incorporate shields into the spell, something to help her keep him safe from those arms.]
no subject
Glancing quickly behind him, he waves a 'go!' signal back at his partner.]
no subject
[She's caught them just below where the 'hands' form, so while the arms themselves are held in place, he should still watch out for those fingers.]
no subject
....it doesn't seem particularly effective, on metal, but the boy does seem to take pleasure in wailing on it, despite only suceeding in small dents and a good crack at the mechanical 'joints' on one arm- it whirrs and falls still.]
no subject
[She shortens the ropes, dropping the one connected to the arm Darkbeat's disabled, using her spiritual power, not her physical strength, to try and rotate the robot. Assuming the things are symmetrical, which they appear to be, there ought to be a fourth arm underneath.]
[And there is! But she's too slow to get another kidou binding around it before it starts coming after Darkbeat. He's only got to maneuver around the one arm, but still.]
no subject
[ he shouts aloud in thought, tucking up into a forward roll to dodge the arm, but wincing as some of the splintered wood jams into his hand - a stupid way to get hurt, but that's what tweezers are for.
Better thanbeing crushed up by the arm, anyway, and Soul Eater glows with an aura of malice, thrust forward between the bound arms, toward the heart if the machine. ]
no subject
Soul Eater just barely misses the blinking red light in the center of the machine (which, on closer inspection, also seems to be a button one can simply press) and lodges just to the side of it, slicing through easy-to-cut electrical cables and wires and getting stuck in the twisting, tearing metal.
Water and electricity are not such a good combo, though. Sparks fly around the area Soul Eater's become lodged in, and shocks crackle over the surface of the machine.]
[Hinamori's reaction is just more horror. No, no, no, this can't be happening...]
no subject
...Or that time he was thrown back across the floor, limbs twitching, by a horrible blond with a cruel laugh.
Either memory is enough incentive to drop the blade immediately, the immediate loss of contact sending it dissolving back into the rage of his heart, evaporating in another cloud of black. Joe scrambles to his feet and hauls himself up on a pier post by one arm, watching the machine thrash and snap at itself.]
