He wishes he could run away and leave the sickness and the fever and the hospital behind, but it already takes too much energy to turn his head and smile a little at his friend when he hears her voice.]
Hey, Kairi. I'm not really sure.

Don't stay up on account of me. Go nap if you want.

Too much sleeping.

Fair enough. You got me to order around. Can I get you anything?

[Another half smile.]

[Even if she wants to humor him. Maybe decaf? Last thing she wants is dehydrating him or giving him acid. He's already in enough pain.]
Talk, huh? What do you want to talk about?
no subject
Heh. I dunno. Anything. You ever been sick like this?

[Yeah, he'll get better. He has to.]
Mm, I barely remember it. When I was a kid, though since that was a long time ago, so I can't really remember too well. I think it was around the first week I landed on the islands. I was so confused, and I got washed up on shore. Memory loss and being soaked to the bone does things to you. That was a bad week for me.

[A little at a time. That might work. He fumbles for the button to elevate his bed, and listens.]
I know what it's like not to remember. But not the rest. Never been really sick like this. [Cue another fit of coughs.] It stinks.

[She pours him out some.]
I have a good chunk of my childhood missing. But I'm okay. I just wonder sometimes.
[She sits herself next to him with it, frowning.]
I wish everyone would get better soon.

[He's really not. But he can shift himself enough to make room for her on the hospital bed without succumbing to the wave of dizziness that comes with too much motion.]
I wonder sometimes too...what it would have been like. [Sip. Sip.] Was it nice, there on the islands?
