[Ravens.

In her fevered dreams, they're everywhere. Tearing apart a dark haired knight. Devouring the heart of a lonesome prince. Reclaiming the allegiance of a beautiful princess. Feathers, claws, beaks, and those loathsome sounds don't stop echoing until she wakes up, feverish and coughing.

Unfortunately, it's not often that she's awake, and during those rare moments of consciousness, coherency is a constant struggle. Breathing becomes a labor at times, and she feels like she's aflame. Those who visit won't be in for a pleasant sight.

Still, she'll try her hardest to put on a smile for any friends who arrive in the hospital room.]

[He sees it over and over again, his blade going through her, instead of him. Her voice pleading with him to know why. Why did he do this, why didn't he protect her? He knows it's a dream, but he can't wake up most of the time. He tries and tries, and occasionally he's able to get himself back to wakefulness -- coherency optional.

[But even when he's coherent, don't expect things like him trying to smile reassuringly. He feels like hell -- it's too damned hot in here, he swears -- and it doesn't exactly help his mood. He will be irritable and snappish. Some of the staff have started to find it preferable when he's out cold. Visit at your own risk.

[Also, depending on the day, he may or may not be aware of this salient detail, due to varying levels of coherency.]

[[OOC: So here's our cranky patient. If you have a preference for how out of it he is when your character visits, just let me know; he's going to have good days and bad days when it comes to how alert he is.]]

[ Helen had been trying to resist going in, taking others in to the hospital before leaving to go home herself. She'd felt herself sicken quickly, a lot quicker than she'd ever become ill before, and considering that she rarely became ill it was more worrying, and frustrating.

She was restless. The stereotype that doctors made the worst patients? Helen certainly fit that and to an extreme. She'd (more than possibly) annoyed both doctors and nurses, if not with questions and comments than with not staying in her bed. If you're coming to visit her you may be waiting a little bit if she's not there and wandering instead ]

[By the time another night has passed and Castiel is supposed to go to the Clinic, he's not certain he can get up. It takes half an hour for him to get off the couch and open his wings to fly, and when he appears from seemingly nowhere in the Clinic's waiting room he staggers and has to catch himself on a wall, falling into another coughing fit.

This is a bad idea. Why had he agree to this?]

[Diego is asleep much of the time, particularly early in his hospital stay. Being ill threw his medications out of balance and put him out for about a day, but after that he's in and out.

He is exceptionally grumpy, though, between his hatred of hospitals and his coffee withdrawals. So good luck, if you decide to come visit him

[Maya drifts in and out of consciousness. During her conscious moments, she'll often to try get up (and fail), tries to usher those around her (specifically Pearl and Jake) to get rest, and makes use of her NV where she can to communicate with others.]

[While unconscious, she gets her rest where she can - sometimes fitfully, coughing every so often, and curled up on herself. It might look cute if she didn't look like a dying frog. Her hair's down, too, no sign of the tell-tale topknot]

[In any case, always open for visits - just don't get sick.]

[Roxas is brought to the hospital when Namine's death forces a painful realization upon his friends that this illness can be just as deadly as any of the enemies they've faced. He stays in the hospital because he's closer to the edge than anyone knew.

But he hangs on. Many of his hours are spent in fitful sleep, but occasionally he surfaces into consciousness as if led back by the IV in his arm. As the week goes by, he begins to improve, though it doesn't always feel that way. But he's still here—still alive.]

[It had finally taken an embarrassingly dramatic fainting spell and a concussion at work to get Ichigo admitted into the hospital. He'd been running an increasingly high fever throughout the course of the day, thrown up twice before lunch, and was starting to feel like it might be time to maybe bite the bullet and go and see a doctor when he'd been utterly convinced he'd seen his mother walking towards him, soaked in rain water and blood.

Of course, it had been a hallucination, but Ichigo's fevered brain hadn't been able to make the distinction and down he'd gone, smacking his head hard enough on the floor when he landed from falling off the stepladder to knock him out.

The dreams only got worse from then on. The concussion and the fever had knocked him out cold.

But his dreams were worse. Sometimes he was stuck beneath his mother's body, paralysed by the weight of her, hands and clothes and everything stained with blood. Sometimes she'd just be there, soothing him and stroking his brow.

"It's not your fault sweetheart, it's not."

That just made it worse, and in his dreams he'd curl into a ball in the rain and cry.

Other dreams were filled with blood. Rukia with Grimmjow's fist plunging into her. Chad lying broken on the grass. Inoue and Ishida on the tower, battered and torn as he flung Zangetsu into his friend's torso. Ulquiorra fading away into dust. Tatsuki shoving him through a window with tears in his eyes.

When he finally wakes, he's disorientated, dehydrated, and quick to tire as the illness has sapped away his energy.]

[There's little change in Nill's condition while she's in the hospital; aside from the occasional vomiting, she's quite stable for the duration of her stay, from start to finish, although her state certainly isn't good. Most of the time Nill is asleep, and when she's not asleep she's curled up on the bed because everything aches too much for her to want to consider trying to move.

The dreams aren't the worst part of it all, but they're the most unpredictable. Many don't make sense - there are some where she walks and walks and walks and wakes up exhausted later - but the ones that do are usually old memories, and they pull her in whenever she closes her eyes for more than five minutes. Many of them are good memories mingled with strange imagery and colors from the fever; but it also makes the nightmares all the more vivid when they come. If Nill had a voice, she would have woken up shrieking at least once.

But the staff is nice, if a bit rushed, and despite her dislike of hospitals Nill is too tired to be anything but a good patient. In return one of the nurses helped to move her bed closer to the window so that she could rest in the sun on nice days.

Chances are that's how anyone visiting will find Nill - laying on her side and half curled around a pillow with the sun against her back. She'll still smile at anyone that comes in.]
