Sometime after Namine's Death
Because he can't lose another friend. Not like this. He speaks quietly to his sleeping friend.]
Everybody's real worried ... So don't go anywhere, okay?
no subject
If he had, he'd have told Sora to go home, don't get too close, don't get sick. He's glad to have visitors, but he doesn't want any more of his friends to get sick, and with him and Sora having so many similarities...
For now, he sleeps, stirring occasionally but not waking.]

You're supposed to stay in Siren's Port, remember? It's home.
You can be you here. I can talk to you here.
[His voice lowers a little.] We can be not-friends here as much as we want, right? [He gives a bit of a laugh, and a faint smile, which dissolves when Roxas doesn't respond.]
2/3
That's why you can't disappear.
If... I can't come see you here in Siren's Port...
[Then, he can't see Roxas anywhere. Before he'd come to the Port, he'd found solace in missing the chance to meet his other in the fact that he was with him. But after meeting Roxas, and having a rude awakening about the reality of things, he's not ready to watch Roxas waste away.]
You can't let this beat you, okay? You're supposed to be here for a really long time, and grow up and find out about all the stuff you never got to back home. You're supposed to eat lots of ice cream, and play lots of video games, hang out with Xion and Axel and ... me too.
3/3
Namine's gone, and it makes his heart so very heavy. He doesn't know what he'll do if Roxas goes away too. They've come so far. It isn't fair at all.]
I'm keeping your diary safe. You have to wake up so you can come back and get it...
no subject
Something's drawing him away from the peaceful, healing oblivion. A light in the darkness, a reason to go back to where things are harsh and painful. Something that feels familiar, like going home.
You have to wake up...
Slowly, he does. His breathing grows even, and his eyes open ever so slightly. He angles his head on the pillow to face his visitor, either because he's grown used to people sitting there or because he sensed Sora would be there.]
Hey.
[His voice is raspy and quiet, but steady.]
no subject
But now that he's awake, that's over, and he's flooded with relief.]
Roxas!
[He lowers his voice, as if he's afraid the other might be sensitive to that kind of thing.]
Hey yourself. How're you feeling?
no subject
Lousy.
[He doesn't have the energy to be anything but honest right now.]
How long was I asleep? Been losing track a lot.
no subject
[It was the time his friends spent asleep that was always the most anxious. That was how it had happened to Namine. He knows it could happen at any time, asleep or awake, but he feels that cloying worry anyway.]
You're awake now at least! That's good.
And I know eating hospital food's no picnic so... maybe I can try and sneak something in next time.
no subject
[It's not that he's surprised. Sora's not about to turn his back on anyone he cares about, and though their relationship is still something complicated that Roxas has trouble describing, he knows that Sora cares. A lot.]
It's not so great. But I haven't had to eat it, mostly. [He lifts his left arm a few inches, nodding at the IV that's still attached to it.]
no subject
Oh! Did they say you could eat real food yet? Or are you not supposed to until you get better?
no subject
[He makes a face. Being sick sucks, braintwin.] Couldn't keep much down before. I was gonna try again later.
no subject
[Maybe he can ask around. Bring him something that's light and easy for his stomach to take. Like soup or something.]
no subject
[His lips twitch into a small smile, but that fades into something more like concern.]
Are you sure you should be here? You could get sick, too.
[Their shared connection means that if Roxas got so sick, Sora should be just as susceptible...he thinks. Maybe that's the fever logic talking. But he still worries.]
no subject
no subject
[He's not that loud, but his increased agitation is apparent. If he were his normal self, he'd be embarrassed to reveal so much of his worry.]
If I can get sick, you can get sick. I don't want that.
no subject
no subject
You don't wanna get stuck here.
no subject
no subject
That's what silence spells are for.
no subject
Don't sweat it too much. Just focus on getting better, instead of worry about everybody else.
no subject
Yeah...speaking of that...
How bad is it out there? I know it's getting crowded here but I haven't even been out of my room.
no subject
And then... there's Namine. Has anyone even told him yet?]
no subject
How many have they lost already?]
no subject
People are really sick. A whole lot of people.
