[What happens to a nobody when he dies? Do they disappear for good? Is the last time he gets to see Roxas like this? He doesn't even get to say all the really important things, things he never even knew he had to say.

Namine's gone, and it makes his heart so very heavy. He doesn't know what he'll do if Roxas goes away too. They've come so far. It isn't fair at all.]

I'm keeping your diary safe. You have to wake up so you can come back and get it...

[Roxas doesn't hear Sora's words, exactly. Not in his conscious mind. But he's asleep, and something about them seeps into his unconscious mind.

Something's drawing him away from the peaceful, healing oblivion. A light in the darkness, a reason to go back to where things are harsh and painful. Something that feels familiar, like going home.

You have to wake up...

Slowly, he does. His breathing grows even, and his eyes open ever so slightly. He angles his head on the pillow to face his visitor, either because he's grown used to people sitting there or because he sensed Sora would be there.]

Hey.

[His voice is raspy and quiet, but steady.]

[Sora's eyes widen. He briefly wonders if Roxas might've heard anything that he'd said, but he's just too glad to see the other awake that it's only a passing thought. Roxas has likely had other visitors, but Sora's been awful with timing. All he's gotten during his visits are long stretches of silence, and waiting and worrying.

But now that he's awake, that's over, and he's flooded with relief.]

Roxas!

[He lowers his voice, as if he's afraid the other might be sensitive to that kind of thing.]

Hey yourself. How're you feeling?

[The joyful cry isn't quite loud enough to send him reeling with another awful headache, but he's glad Sora lowered the volume all the same.]

Lousy.

[He doesn't have the energy to be anything but honest right now.]

How long was I asleep? Been losing track a lot.

Can't say. You've always been asleep whenever I've come in.

[It was the time his friends spent asleep that was always the most anxious. That was how it had happened to Namine. He knows it could happen at any time, asleep or awake, but he feels that cloying worry anyway.]

You're awake now at least! That's good.

And I know eating hospital food's no picnic so... maybe I can try and sneak something in next time.

Oh...you've been here before?

[It's not that he's surprised. Sora's not about to turn his back on anyone he cares about, and though their relationship is still something complicated that Roxas has trouble describing, he knows that Sora cares. A lot.]

It's not so great. But I haven't had to eat it, mostly. [He lifts his left arm a few inches, nodding at the IV that's still attached to it.]

Couple of times. [Sora shuffles in his seat.] They really oughta get more comfy chairs.

Oh! Did they say you could eat real food yet? Or are you not supposed to until you get better?

Oh. [pause] Thanks.

[He makes a face. Being sick sucks, braintwin.] Couldn't keep much down before. I was gonna try again later.

Well... if you're gonna try and keep something down, might as well be something that tastes really good, right?

[Maybe he can ask around. Bring him something that's light and easy for his stomach to take. Like soup or something.]

Can't hurt.

[His lips twitch into a small smile, but that fades into something more like concern.]

Are you sure you should be here? You could get sick, too.

[Their shared connection means that if Roxas got so sick, Sora should be just as susceptible...he thinks. Maybe that's the fever logic talking. But he still worries.]

I'm not the one you should be worried about. I'm in tip top shape! Been to see some others, and I feel fine. I think if I was gonna get sick, I'd be here in the hospital by now.

But you could!

[He's not that loud, but his increased agitation is apparent. If he were his normal self, he'd be embarrassed to reveal so much of his worry.]

If I can get sick, you can get sick. I don't want that.

[lockandkeyblade]

[A little jokingly:] Even if I do catch a bug, we can always play board games here in the hospital until we both get better?

[He frowns, but not too hard; it's not like he wants Sora to go away. Still...]

You don't wanna get stuck here.

[lockandkeyblade]

Maybe not, but at least I'd be in good company. [He grins as he glances back at the sleeping Ahiru, and then back at Roxas. He doubts he'd get placed in this room, but he tries to keep it lighthearted.] What's the matter Roxas? Afraid I'd keep you up at night snoring?

[He rolls his eyes, then shakes his head very lightly.]

That's what silence spells are for.

Hey! [But that's the ticket. He's getting the feeling that Roxas is a little more relaxed.]

Don't sweat it too much. Just focus on getting better, instead of worry about everybody else.

Yeah...speaking of that...

How bad is it out there? I know it's getting crowded here but I haven't even been out of my room.

[lockandkeyblade]

[He rubs the back of his neck, not so sure he wants to tell Roxas. Would sad news make him worse? He doesn't know. But he doesn't want to lie either.

And then... there's Namine. Has anyone even told him yet?]

[Roxas just watches and waits, his eyes tired and serious. He really wants to know. How many people are they in danger of losing?

How many have they lost already?]

[lockandkeyblade]

[Sora shakes his head.] It's not so good out there.

People are really sick. A whole lot of people.

[About what he expected, through the haze.]

I figured. Joe's the only one from our apartment who hasn't gotten sick. It hit me, Xion and Namine all at once.

[lockandkeyblade]

Joe's still okay. And Xion is too. She's here in the hospital now...

At least now you guys are really gonna get taken care of. They'll figure out a cure soon, I'm sure they will.

[He nods. It's good that Xion's here, if it means she'll get better. They'd said she'd need to be here as a patient, not just a visitor, and Roxas is okay with that if it means she won't worry so hard about him.]

Is Namine feeling better?

[It feels like something squeezing his heart in his chest, and his eyes are starting to burn. He feels like he doesn't have the words for something like this. Like saying it loud makes it too real.

He just visibly sags, his hand coming to rest over his chest.]
