He frowns right back at her but doesn't come anywhere near mirroring her expression. A sudden wave of dizziness quells his abysmal efforts at scowling and he retreats to the wall like he'd planned to.
Nice sturdy wall...
Oh, hello, concerned nurse passing by... No, he's okay. Completely all right. Yes. The paleness is only from uh... it's from darkness? Or the thought of sick people? Sure... Hey, no, really, hands off...
Terra hurries back to Aqua's side once he manages to shoo the stranger away. He crosses his arms, trying his best not to look shaken.
Regretting this visit already? Regretting this visit already.
Roxas had better be awake when they get to his room...]
all is forgiven, two?!bitty. uwu
Two eighty-eight. He's in room two eighty-eight. Apparently, they have that entire floor quartered off for patients of the outbreak, so ...
[Purses her lips.]
Stairs or elevator?
[ Please say elevator. ]
Had no idea you tagged this, oop.
[So sorry, Aqua.]
The stairs should be fine if it's just the second floor...
[Somehow, it seems like a safer plan than being stuck in a small, lurching box. He is already heading toward the stairs.]
doop
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO PROVE, TERRA. Y U DO DIS.
Because of an overwhelming sense of disappointment (and general fatigue), she follows after him slowly, steadily, and without a word. It's a stupid thing to become agitated over and she doesn't take it to heart ... but her patience is thin from worry and illness -- the former more than the latter -- and with each step, she dreads wrestling with the stairs more and more.]

When she says nothing, he goes along with it and keeps his mouth shut, too. There, stairs. He starts up the first few only to pause and very casually take hold of the handrail.
Come on, Aqua, hustle hustle.]
no subject
And if for some reason it looks like she's not hustling it's because of the daisies. Look how delicate these daisies are. It's not like she can just run up the stairs. Not with the daisies. They'd look terrible by the time they'd reach Roxas. And that would be insulting.
So ... minor hustling, keeping mostly behind him and out of his direct line of sight. He has the room number ... he can lead the way.]

He doesn't stop until he reaches that elusive second floor. Then it's round two of breath catching time.
If only he'd had some delicate daisies to be considerate of...]

GDit TerraThankfully, Terra has the sense not to turn around and try and hurry her up. She finds her way up the stairs at her own pace, about four steps behind her friend.Disguising shortness of breath with slow, controlled breathing is a lot harder than it looks. But during the pause, it's easy for her to fluff up the flowers and look preoccupied while he takes all the time he needs.]
no subject
Okay. Okay, he's good now. Onward to wander the halls and check room numbers!]
no subject
Oh, the daisies are fine. Kind of suddenly. And she follows after him again.]
Two eighty-eight.
[She'd not chiding him, she's reminding him! To prevent aimless hallway wanderings.]
no subject
[Yes, that is the number. He's not just going to walk them into room two eighty-two or something, gosh Aqua.
... Watch him walk right past it when it finally shows up.]
no subject
Still. In an attempt to prevent a potentially embarrassing brain fart on Terra's behalf, she mutters the even room numbers on the right side of the hall to herself as the numbers climb higher and closer.]
Two hundred and eighty ... two eighty-two ... two eighty-four ...
no subject
Two eighty-eight.
[He even points out the three numbers.]
Are your daisies ready?
1/2
Oh ... good. You found it.
[With all three numbers right and everything.]
Well, I don't know. Let's see.
2/2
Almost.
[Slowly. Painstakingly. Adjusts. A single petal.]
Mm. Now they're ready.
no subject
Returning her flat look, he opens the door to room two eighty-eight and begrudgingly holds it open for the Bearer of Daisies.]
no subject
Hey ... incoming visitors. Roxas?
no subject
Terra? Aqua?
[It's almost a croak, but he kinda sorta sounds glad to see them.]
Hey. Come on in.
no subject
[Got a little echo going on in your room there, Roxas. Terra walks right in after Aqua, a tentative smile on his face. He's relieved to see Roxas awake... for more than one reason.]
no subject
How are you feeling? [Feeling suddenly much sprier, she drops into a sitting position at the foot of his bed.] Any better than yesterday?
no subject
[He reaches over to the side of his bed and presses a button that lifts the mattress slightly so he can talk to them without craning his neck.]
I keep falling asleep out of nowhere, and when I'm not asleep, it gets pretty boring. Thanks for coming.

Not as lousy is good. That's somewhere on the road that leads to not lousy at all.
[A hair ruffle is in order -- albeit it a much gentler one than usual. It's really more of a light pat on the head than anything. Thank goodness Aqua thought to bring those flowers, though, or he might have forgotten the important friendship ritual.
He steps back to stand near where the Daisy Master is sitting. It's about then that he gets a chance to take in the full picture... Roxas in a hospital bed, looking awfully sick despite the IV in his arm...
Except for a few disconcerting moments, it's Ven there instead. And then both Ven and Aqua are gone, replaced by two faceless, nameless entities and they're all in some darker place where there are no IVs or monitors or nurses to be had, they're all just dying one by one, and there's so much blood pooling around the stranger on the bed...
A few shades paler, Terra jerks away. He quickly decides to feign interest in the room itself. The clean, safe hospital room.]
So, this is your room, huh? Have you had it all to yourself?
terra's trippin balls 8(
VenRoxas, evaluating his reaction time, monitoring his facial expressions ... but she glances to Terra when he leans in for a hair ruffle. One glance, followed shortly by a second glance that lingers when her friend turns pallid. She doesn't have the wherewithal to hide her alarm and her eyes widen a little, peaceable smile waning slowly.
But he recovers like a champ, apparently.]
That's right ... He'll be better in no time, don't you think?
[... And ... she rises from her place at the foot of the bed, standing by Terra and lightly touches his arm.]
... Here, let's switch places.
he been stealing the good drugs
But then for a moment it looks like Terra's the one who's sick and needs to lie down, not him, and Roxas is only mostly sure that it wasn't a hallucination after the moment passes.]
Ahiru's been sharing with me.
[He speaks quickly, trying not to show the sudden worry that is maybe unnecessary now, even though Aqua seems a little disturbed too.]
It's nice to have a friend around...less lonely. I think they took her off for some tests though. [He doesn't really know, he was either asleep or too fuzzy in the head to recall.] It's nice to have people come around too. Everything back home seems really far away.
darkness drugs

I wish I could get that stuff from CVS
