But once the early morning siren's wailed and the darkness disappeared, William sensed something. Something dark and powerful...and growing!
William quickly manifests to where the sensation is emanating from. The beach is a mess of debris and a violent wind blows past. William can't yet see the horror that is the witch Grell's soul has transformed into, but he does notice Grell's body. Lying limp in the sand. He rushes to it, attempting to rouse Grell even though he can sense, quite clearly, that there is no soul within; not even a tarnished soul gem hanging around his neck. ]

He hoists it up in his arms, frowning down at the excessively pale skin and salt water soaked red hair. Having never had to deal with a body upon death beyond reaping it's soul, William's almost unsure of what to do with it.
Especially here, in Port, where the rules of death hardly apply at all.
William swallows hard, holding back whatever emotions are trying to surface and manifests back home. He'll clean Grell off and tuck him in on the couch for now. ]
JULY 15th: mid-morning
Or , worse yet, do you live in this area, between Sectors 4 and 7? You're going to have to do quite a bit of cleanup - if you survive! ]
Re: JULY 15th: mid-morning
At his destination, he looks into the distance to ensure that, yes, a giant monster is still rampaging across town, and plants the bucket on the ground in front of him. Reaching into his cabinet of a torso, he produces a handful of small change with which he 'seeds' the bucket with a jangly clattering sound.
He flips the cardboard over his head, letting it settle on either side of his torso to reveal its purpose as a crude sandwich board with a large arrow pointing downwards. He lights up a cigar and leans passively against the side of the nearest building, causing the arrow to conveniently point directly into the bucket's opening.
The sign reads (in surprisingly neat, precise handwriting):

But she skids to a stop when she sees what appears to be a short man in weird armor with a ridiculous sign. She has to read it twice to be sure what she's seeing.]
Are you trying to take people's money at a time like this?!
no subject
I'm not taking anything from anybody right now. Can't you see it's the end of the world? I only have the best interests of humanity in mind.
Being a soul-less robot, I can never truly experience the afterlife. Burdened as you are, I just want to relieve you of your... [He looks down to remind himself] sinful wealth, so that you can get the just final rewards you deserve.
Pour it all in, baby, there's plenty of room.

In all honesty, he should ne more shocked. But he knows Amy, the TARDIS, Jack and Rose are all out of harm's way, but...
he still worries.

By the time he was done brushing his teeth and had his coffee, he'd forgotten about it. He heard the sirens. But, it wasn't like that wasn't common enough. eh sipped his coffee, scanned the network, and went to wait for the train.
Working in the language lab, he went to the school in the late morning. The 10am was his usual train. He stood on the platform with a twinky and a cup of coffee and...]

Re: JULY 15th: mid-morning
...so when will I get to see this place you work at? Seems kind of questionable if I'm not allowed there yet.
JULY 15th: mid-morning
Never. You'd get eaten alive. It's not the place for little brats.
[He flashed Teito a mocking smile and returned to his magazine. Some of his attention was still on the kid though. He knew full well his words would come back on him pretty quickly.]

Re: July 15th: afternoon
He transforms into his Puella Magi self, orange tailcoat and cravat and all, before heading to Sector 4 as fast as he can (which is pretty fast and may include leaping from car to car, and then building to building in calf-high black boots.]
Waaaauuugh! It really is a witch!
[The first thing to do at a time like this, obviously, is to scream while standing on top of the Newcomers' Towers. Really, really loudly, and declare the obvious while gesturing with a bright orange halberd. Thank you, Puella Magi Obvious Magica.
Anyway, the witch is big and wreaking havoc and destruction, but Larry thinks (or hopes, or wishes) that he can handle this. So he runs to the edge and calls out while waving his weapon:]
Hey, ugly! Over here! You wanna piece of Larry Butz: Ace Puella Magi?!
no subject
[ Yes, Grellzilla does indeed want a piece of Larry Butz: Ace Puella Magi. Remember how he smashed your pumpkin? This is worse.
Whooooooooooooooooosh! Now you're in the Witch Dimension. Watch out for the flying mameshiba! ]

Few people look twice at him, though, because most of them are headed in the opposite direction. This is a much bigger Witch than any he and Ahriu have ever faced before. And the radio news is true- the thing's just stomping everywhere!
Good thing they can pitch into try and stop it. (And that he had a full day to nurse off the hangover from Jinx's wedding. Too much rum and coke could give you such a bad headache the morning after that you might not want to see the light of day for 24 hours- who knew!)] "This is Darkbeat! Me and Sugar Plum are closing in on it!"
[He turns to his companion. If there's a grief seed to be collected here, surely it will be powerful enough for the both of them to share. Joe's been needing it, lately. In a way, something like this couldn't have shown up at a better time.]
You all set? I'm really gonna count on you this time, Ahiru- this thing's gotta be huge!
no subject
Deep down, maybe she knew this day would come.
She'd hoped it wouldn't, certainly; hoped that she go on without ever having to help hurt anything. And as they were rushing to the site, she had a sinking feeling that he wouldn't be able to handle it alone. But all of these observations have been so buried under her natural, bright optimism that his words honestly shock her. It's enough to make her pause, almost stumble, even in her more graceful state.]

The . . . whatever it was wasn't fully clear yet, but it left a definitive trail of destruction in its wake so profound that she couldn't just ignore it.
Down below, she could see Joe and Ahiru also racing towards it. Larry had vanished some moments earlier.
It only secured certainty that there was a reason that she should be there.
