It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!

Summary: It's a Block Party!

The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.

Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.

The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.



OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.

All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.

[Everyone expected Mugshots to have a stall, and they were happy to oblige. There had been several things discussed as good games to let people play, and other things that would be good to give out as prizes for said things.

Nope. Death was planning on having some fun. Setting up a ping pong table, she had made sure everyone was ready to play some Beer Pong. Anyone of legal age could play with beer, and anyone underage could play with lemonade. The prizes for each was that they could drink whatever they wanted.

And also walk away with a pamphlet encouraging people to sign up for bounty hunting.]

[Death grins from where she's hanging out near the stall.]

It's called beer pong. It's a fun game! You have to get the ping pong into the cup, and when you do, you get to drink the beer in it.

[Conner has dragged Tim out to this because it seems like a good excuse to figure out what a date date might be like with him, only they're not dating and they're just friends, so he's calling it a not-date in his head.]

Oooh, I've always wanted to try this! And here we're legal! [He gives Tim a glance.] But I don't think beer would be a good idea for you. I can handle a lot more than you could.

You know what beer does to a person's body, right? Who knows what it could do to a Kryptonian's body. I don't know if that was ever discovered, yet, since it was never in any of the files.

[He raises a slender eyebrow at him.] I think I'll stick with the lemonade. But I'll be the designated driver, if you want.

Pretty sure Clark's had a few drinks before and he's fine. [... Right? He thinks?]

Bet you I could drink a whole thing of beer and not feel a thing. But later, just in case. We're going to have some fun right now. And who needs a designated driver when you've got a designated flyer?

If you start drinking beer, you're not a designated flier anymore. [He eyes the cups warily. This was something kids did in college, right? And they found this fun? Tim to give it a shot. After carefully hearing about the rules, Tim bounced the ball towards the cup, missing by an inch.]

I just thought of this... don't use your TTK. That would be cheating.

Tim, I'm wounded you'd even think I'd cheat. [He's totally going to start cheating if you start winning. But for now, no powers. He gives it a try and doesn't even hit the table. Haha, Conner.]

[Zevran, with his focus on dexterity stats delicate and precise, trained muscles, is doing quite successfully with beer pong. What a fun game! He's already several beers in, laughing when he finally misses one and it plunks off the rim of the glass.

You're not trying to get me drunk, are you? [Teases, a slight lilt to her voice, and in the way that she leaned against the table. Flirtatious, even.]

Only so that I might see some roses bloom in your soft cheeks, my friend! I would never presume to take advantage of a woman as powerful as you. [The words glide off his tongue and he leans right back into her and it's almost. Almost. As if he isn't completely terrified of her.

Zevran doesn't want to die. It crosses his minds that he ought not flirt with death. But isn't it always the people who try so hard to avoid her that end up suffering the worse fates? He cannot treat her differently, in fact, he's hard-wired not to show distress in these situations.

[On Saturday Chuck finally gets a break from being a dunk tank bitch and strolls up to the stall, still slightly damp.]

Hey, Chuck. [She smiles, waiting a moment before bringing out a towel from under the stall.]

Looks like you had a busy day so far.

Yeah, it's pretty crazy.

[Taking the towel with a small smile.]

I think I've almost forgiven Kurt for signing me up.

Almost? I heard he had to go in the tank, too. Maybe you should get a little payback. [Which would be pretty fun to see. She loved the kid, but she'd pay a dollar to try to dunk him in a pool of water.]
