It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!
Who: Siren's Port and You!
When: June 7th to June 10th
Where: The block outside the Newcomer Community Center
Summary: It's a Block Party!
Warnings: Possible language, nothing worse then that.
The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.
Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.
The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.

OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.
All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.
Have a good time!

NPP Dunk Tank - Thursday 6/7 - noon
A white sign written in delicate handwriting was draped over the table, letting people know of the small price. "One dollar for four balls! All proceeds go to benefit Newcomer resources at the Newcomer Community Center."

This weekend, for an hour each day, he's 'that idiot servant who got tricked into getting dunked in a tank of cold water by his trickster young master because the opportunity for public mockery and entertainment is too good to pass up'.
But whatever title you know him under, you probably know him well enough to want to dunk him at some point. Give it your best shot.
*only appears suave from a long distance]

And he's not the kind of person who would pass up a dunking booth. He buys his four chances, and waves a friendly hello at the man in the tank.
He has perfect aim.]

And boy was Gilbert Nightray in a strange position.
It took less than a millisecond for Kyubey to figure out if you hit the target, Gilbert would fall into the freezing water. Sure, Kyubey was a creature that lacked an understanding of Human Emotion, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy a little bit of entertainment at someone else's expense. If anything, it was only fair. Gilbert had shot him more than once. It would definitely be worth it.
Hopping up onto the edge of the tank, Kyubey perched there ever so quietly, coming into view as he stared at the man, beady red eyes unblinking.]
Hello Gilbert!

But the moment Gil surfaces, Oz will be there with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye and a towel for the overgrown servant man! Because a good master always looks out for his servant. Uh-huh. Yup.
Most definitely. ]
Only a few more minutes left, Gil. Hang in there! [ lies, it's at least 15! Or was it twenty? Meh. Oh well. ]

[Less one dollar, plus four balls; Szayel hefted one experimentally, a critical eye calculating the exact trajectory the ball would need to take and the force necessary for a successful hit.]
Well then... anything to say before you get wet?
[It was just an idle question, asked as he intentionally missed with one ball. He really had no idea who this person was, he just couldn't resist being a sadist.]

Except, of course, for the time he's sitting on the little stool of the dunk tank: someone had signed him up to be dunked, and it's for charity; honor won't let him say no. But that doesn't mean he's particularly enjoying the prospect of being dropped into a tank of cold water. Even so, there he sits in a fitted tee (with SECURITY emblazoned across the front; the 'uniform' he'd gotten for all of his people for the block party), and he'd traded the usual leather for close-fitting jeans instead.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your head of security for the event. Do as you will.]

Immediately, his first instinct is to look around for Himawari. His partner in crime has got to see this.]

Maybe he should have thought twice before making it mandatory for every NPP member to go through the dunk tank. Of course, the thought was that since he was the one making the rule, he would be exempt from said rule, but apparently that was a no go.
But just because he was about to go into cold water multiple times, that did not mean he was any less dressed up as he usually was. Tailored pants, a crisp, white button down shirt, and his usual cravat on. Bring it on.]

My brain says this must happen.
[She tests the weight of one of the balls. Ah. Yes, she's a handle on this now. She offers a polite smile. Petite as she is, she doesn't exactly give off the impression of any expertise at this.]
Ah, Creed-san. How generous of you to participate in this event yourself. [He wouldn't have wanted to. He's not the type. Which is why it's so amusing to see him here in the first place.]

Saturday, 11am
Specifically because he's heard rumors about these rental tanks not being well cleaned between uses, filled up by hoses, the water not treated in the same way as swimming pools, and therefore such happy breeding grounds for bacteria.
That's never the best thing to consider when you're up on the dunking stool.
He's scheduled to be first up on Saturday, therefore he's made sure the tank was scrubbed out well from the night before, and refilled clean.
Getting nice clothes wet seems a waste, so he's actually in long swimming trunks, a tank top and flip flops, looking a good deal less professional than usual and young enough in face and stature to pass for a teenager.
The water is cold at his toes and he's dreading the ordeal, privately hoping that those who pass by will take interest in one of the other fundraisers instead.]

Clearly this means that he has to change that. So he gets his turns and waits for the next person up who may get lucky enough to duck him. If their aim is good. It's sad that half the time people just miss.
Really, it kinda make Marco weep a little inside.
Not that . . . he should talk anyway. Oh well, who cares.
