It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!

Who: Siren's Port and You!
When: June 7th to June 10th
Where: The block outside the Newcomer Community Center
Summary: It's a Block Party!
Warnings: Possible language, nothing worse then that.

The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.

Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.

The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.

OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.

All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.

Have a good time!

With your compliments, or the facts of my skills?

[Well it's better than being everywhere! And it's a black shirt Sephrioth, it won't really show.]

I can take a towel to it again for a minute, if you want. But yes, everything is going well. The after-work crowd hasn't quite made it in yet, so you are just in time.

I'm not telling.

[Yes, he knows. But still!]

Too much toweling will just tangle it. It's best to leave it to dry on its own. [He nods at the brief report, checking his PHS at the same time. Aside minor incidences -- all dealt with -- everything is clear, so far.] Good. Perhaps it is not too much to hope that this whole thing goes smoothly.

In the heart, Seph. Right in the heart.

[He smiles at that, adjusting his own shirt underneath the harness for the Buster, sliding the sword back on as they exit.] I don't think it is at all, everyone is just glad to have something nice after the last few weeks.

[But he's always been the optimist.]

One of the most efficient ways to kill a man.

[Sephiroth reaches for his own blade, settling it into place before folding his wet clothing into a plastic bag. The booth is allowing its participants to store their clothing changes by the tank, so that they do not have to leave the party just to change. He'll pick it up later, before everything is packed away, and take care of the wet garments properly back at the house.]

That is my hope. But I suppose we'll see.

Everything will work out, trouble or not.

[He can't say that there won't be trouble, no he knows that too well. But with Sephiroth in charge things will end up being just fine.]

That is my hope.

[Sephiroth knows he's good at what he does, but there's always something of the unexpected variety. Still, he has a good crew and he's confident of their abilities, having worked with most of them before and having researched the others. Things will work out.]

We've still some time before I need to check in with the shift; will you let me buy you lunch?

[It's nice to see Sephiroth in a relaxed mood, or as relaxed as the other can be out in public like this. Angeal smiles at the thoughtfulness and gestures with one hand.]

You'd do that for me? What an honor. [Teasing as usual, but that is indeed a yes from him. He was hungry, now that the subject is brought up and he has thought about it.]

Mmm. Well, you didn't dunk me.

[It's said with a bit of a sideways glance; Angeal, he may have seen you give a dollar to a kid or two, okay? But if you're not admitting he'd not accusing, instead just steering Angeal with a nudge to his shoulder in the direction of more of the booths with the food.]

What are you in the mood for?

[And, on seeing that look-] For charity!

[And hmm, what looks good, Angeal could always go for anything, but some of this deep fried stuff looks strange to even his tastes, much less to Sephiroth's picky own. But he does spy near the middle a stall selling wraps of all sorts, including beef ones. That will hit the spot right now.]

Wraps? In case we need to run. [Not too much food, and they could stick it in Angeal's bag for later, if necessary.] Although I think I'll skip on 'The sweetest sweet tea you'll ever taste', after last time.
