It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!

Summary: It's a Block Party!

The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.

Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.

The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.



OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.

All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.

I'm planning to wear even less, so just think of how I'll suffer! [Franz decides he'd live up to the spirit of things and have a bit of fun - if it meant getting a few teenage girls to toss extra dollars the booth's way, it'd be worth it, right? Plus, the way Kurt had blushed all over at the mere mention of it was pretty much a challenge.]

[gaveherwings]

Are you?

[Daedalus raises his chin and gives him a longer look of appraisal, as if a bit reluctant to share knowledge of what Franz looked like, shirt off, with the whole of the Block Party's attendees.]

Well. That's very bold of you. I wouldn't suggest it.

[discretion]

I don't want to sit around in wet clothes. [Franz raises an eyebrow when Daedalus gives him what he interprets as a bit of a cross look. He feigns an innocent look.] I'll wear water-proof sunblock, I promise!

[gaveherwings]

[His brows raise, as if that promise doesn't really assuage the worst of his fears, which involve Genesis Rhapsodos sauntering up and some not so subtle innuendo.]

If you wish. Didn't Raul Creed go in full suit?

[discretion]

Yes, and he looked ridiculous! [Franz giggles a little at the memory of it.]

Can you climb out of there? I need to get my swim shorts.

[gaveherwings]

[The sitting stool was a bit wobbly, but it wasn't hard to lacing his fingers into the chain link and haul himself up onto the ladder, climbing down before anyone new could run up and demand last licks target practice]

I'm going to change too- It's really not warm enough to be doing this.

[discretion]

Remind me never to take you swimming in the ocean. Or skinny dipping. [Franz grabs a towel they keep nearby the booth, rubbing Daedalus's head with it briefly and then, ducking beneath it as if to hide them both, pressing a kiss to his lips.] I'll be right back!

[gaveherwings]

Skinning dipping? [He smirks, catching the kiss- he's quite missed being kissed properly, since Franz came down with the CulpaFlu.] Hmm, let's just stick to the Japanese bathhouses, shall we?

[discretion]

That's when you sneak to someone else's pool, or go to a lake in the middle of the night, and jump in naked! Fun, huh? [He throws that bit in because he's pretty sure Daedalus will find the idea horrifying.]

[gaveherwings]

In the middle of the night.

[He repeats dryly- yes, horrified, not so much for fear of nakedness or even coldness, but darkness]

--Yeah, I guess getting mauled by darkness monsters would take the shine out of it. Actually, we only did a few times one summer. Our last summer together I told Albert we were far too mature. [Or maybe he just didn't want to put himself in harm's way by getting a chance to see Albert's bare ass once again.]

[gaveherwings]

I see. [There's a small, pained smile of understanding, even if Romdeau never would have allowed for anything of the sort. 'Sneaking' had to be done very carefully, and with knowledge of the few areas cameras couldn't see, Autoreivs didn't patrol.]

Well, there is that lake in the underground mall, but I don't know what hours they'd be closed.

[discretion]

That seems a bit creepy for my tastes. Guess I'll stick with the dunking booth.

[Franz ruffles the towel in Daedalus's hair.] Let's get you into some dry clothes.
