It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!

Summary: It's a Block Party!

The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.

Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.

The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.



OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.

All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.

You're not trying to get me drunk, are you? [Teases, a slight lilt to her voice, and in the way that she leaned against the table. Flirtatious, even.]

Only so that I might see some roses bloom in your soft cheeks, my friend! I would never presume to take advantage of a woman as powerful as you. [The words glide off his tongue and he leans right back into her and it's almost. Almost. As if he isn't completely terrified of her.

Zevran doesn't want to die. It crosses his minds that he ought not flirt with death. But isn't it always the people who try so hard to avoid her that end up suffering the worse fates? He cannot treat her differently, in fact, he's hard-wired not to show distress in these situations.

And she's so lovely, too.]

You know, I can't remember the last time I got to blush! I guess I don't get embarrassed that easily. [She picks up one of the ping pong balls, tossing it in the air.]

But we might see roses bloom on your cheeks, first.

Ah, do you endeavor to make me blush? Many women have tried, and all have failed. I'm afraid I am rather the shameless sort.

[He grins, watching where the ball lands.]

But I admit it sounds fun to try.

I was thinking about giving it a try. I do love a good challenge! [She bounces one of the balls into a cup. Picking it up, she raised it his way.]

Cheers, right? Is there some special saying, when you're raising your glass for someone?

Salud! [He flashes her a charming grin, plunks a ball into a cup, and raises his glass to her.]

Salud! To your continued health! [She took a drink from the cup, closing her eyes to savor the taste. She was an Endless, which meant they didn't need to eat or drink. But it was fun to do so.]

[Zevran, on the other hand, quickly quaffs his drink. It's not as strong as the brandy that he's used to, or even the simpler ales available for a few coppers, but it serves well enough.] I didn't take you for the type to like beer.

I don't get a lot of chances to drink it! [She laughs, draining the rest of the cup.] I never needed to, back home. But I used to run a coffee shop in the port, so I got used to drinking coffee. Maybe if I run this bar long enough, I'll get used to drinking!

[bloodyantivan]

['Didn't need to' drink? That seems a curious thing to say, but Zevran leaves it alone. It could mean any manner of things. Perhaps the lass is religious.] You should not only get used to it, but grow to love it! There is little in the world that cannot be solved by getting completely falling-down drunk!

But what happens if you're drunk, and you fall down in the middle of the road? [But it does sound fun.]

[bloodyantivan]

Then you sing loudly in hopes you are not run over by a cart! [He laughs.] But that is also why it is best to get drunk in a tavern or a brothel, where they may at least prepare for you a couch or a corner full of sawdust to convenient pass out in.

Do you get to sleep on the couch in the brothel before or after paying?

After. And if you're lucky they won't take your purse while you're passed out! [Zevran snickers. Oh, brothels. Growing up in one was good times, man.]

Can I assume that you lost your purse a lot? [She laughs, downing a shot. It was fun, acting normally. Like a human would.]

Not too often. I grew up in a brothel - I know better than to take along more coin than I intend to spend, it is a good way to be robbed. [He plunks another ball in a far cup, showing off, happy for more beer.]
