It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!

Who: Siren's Port and You!
When: June 7th to June 10th
Where: The block outside the Newcomer Community Center
Summary: It's a Block Party!
Warnings: Possible language, nothing worse then that.

The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.

Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.

The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.

OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.

All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.

Have a good time!

[When she talks, her voice is softer than usual, as if not wanting to draw attention to herself.]

I didn't think that a god would lend himself to such a base trick. Any street urchin would know well the art of taking from a pocket. And for the record, I did that simply to draw you out.

[Because she did notice his pockets. And she'll discreetly reach for one of those wallets in there to return them to the lost-and-found later on.]

Oh, clever. Are you flirting with me, Fair Amy? Turning yourself to a life of crime for the handsome rogue Loki. Worry not, fair maiden, for I am a hero by night to make up for the misdeeds of the day.

[He thought for a moment.] It is like Catholicism.

Besides, I was a street urchin for a short time, I had forgotten who I was.

Even if I was, I would be endangering your life by putting you under the scrutiny of my father. He is very protective of me.

[Her expression relaxes a bit, though. She has to admit, the mischief-maker does have enough charm to get through to an ice princess.]

You have a strange sense of morals.

[Then she pauses.]

That is something we have in common, then.

[Just don't tell him how charming he is, it'll inflate his ego even more.]

The scrutiny of your father? Well, I should think he could do worse than a God as someone whom has caught his daughter's fancy.

[He tips his head] Yes I do. So does Asgard. So does Midgard for that matter. What about you?

You were on the street, too? But you have a father...

Hm. We'll see how he thinks of that, once he has gotten wind that I seem to be flirting with you.

[Really... was she ever the type to flirt?]

Morals are always strange for someone who needs to drink blood to survive. I stopped drinking for a while and got sick because I felt remorse for my nature. But I suppose that it is truly the way of the world and I have to submit to it.

As for my father... we are not related by blood. He adopted me. I was an orphan on the streets for most of my childhood.

Oh. [Considers that.] I am adopted, too. [It was complicated.]

I am not terribly worried about your father, though. After all, I am terribly charming and that should lend aide in winning him over and not attempting to put my insides on the outside, at least.

[Pauses] But... why cease drinking blood? If it is donated and no one is killed- well, humans are full of blood.

More things we have in common, then. You must try to meet my father once.

[Well, in truth, she's tempted to see if Loki could try to persuade her father to like him. Just for fun. Because she is very curious.]

What made it difficult for me is how I had to hurt to drink. It... wasn't exactly hero-like. And... I don't always ask for a donation. Especially when the hunger is at its peak.

I shall! Normally one would bring a nice bottle of wine for that sort of occasion, but .. .ah, vampires... [A grin.]

As long as you do not kill anyone, I see no problem in that. People ought to be glad to share with you. I would.

Father and I can also consume typical human fare. The only thing changed about us is this added need for blood.

[That, and their incredibly bright red eyes. Then she pauses.]

Did you just say you would be glad to share with me?
doeswhathewants: (Smirky)

[personal profile] doeswhathewants 2012-06-14 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. ...is that weird?

[At least she can enjoy food, that helps.] Wine it is, then.

It's not strange but... it is unusual.

[Amy's lips are drawn in a straight line, but there's a noticeable tinge of pink at the apples of her cheeks.]
doeswhathewants: (Smirky)

[personal profile] doeswhathewants 2012-06-16 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you blushing? [He grins.] That's fetching, don't deny it.
graceful_cutter: (A Stare)

[personal profile] graceful_cutter 2012-06-24 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
[And now she looks a little cross! She finds the idea of her blushing absolutely absurd!]

I do not think I am!

[But the color in her cheeks is turning a little more vivid now.]
