It's Block Party time! June 7th to June 10th!
Who: Siren's Port and You!
When: June 7th to June 10th
Where: The block outside the Newcomer Community Center
Summary: It's a Block Party!
Warnings: Possible language, nothing worse then that.
The block outside the Newcomer Community Center had been bustling ever since the block party had been announced little less then a week ago. There had been much to get done, and there was little time to waste. With the cure being distributed, the NPP's stance on everything was very clear: they would find some way to put a smile back on the peoples faces. There were stalls set up next to each other, one or two each for a different company, business, or an individual who set out to be enterprising and had wares to show. Many booths were selling different foods or drinks, while others had games for people to play. Some stalls were handing out fliers, trying to promote their business. Each stall had a sign hanging from if that proclaimed what they were, and what they were selling. There was a large stage in front of the center that was for entertainment; they had all kinds of shows for the people to watch and listen to as they milled about.
Most games didn't cost much, or they were free, as long as the person understood that a small donation would be appreciated. All proceeds from the block party were going to help those who had been affected the worst by this plague; some were still in the hospital with crippling medical bills, and the NPP was determined to help those less fortunate. Security was milling about, just as a standard precaution against stealing, or some kind of protest, and each protester was given something to eat, drink, and an invitation to join in the festivities.
The block party would be happening from Thursday, June 7th, to Sunday, June 10th. It would open at 11:00 am, and close around 5:00 pm. This was to ensure that everyone has plenty of time to get their stall up and more then enough time to take the stall down before sirens. Nothing would be left outside in the darkness, but also give enough time to let people have fun. Especially those who wanted to dunk the NPP members in a big tub of water.

OOC: Everyone can make their own thread! If you are a company or a person who has rented a stall, you can make your own thread, and it will be linked on the main post. Entertainment will be taking place throughout the day, and anyone who signed up can make their own thread or comment around. All games can make their own thread as well. Alcohol is allowed for anyone of the legal drinking age (which is 17, for those unaware!), and security will make sure nothing gets out of hand. There will be protesters on the edge of the block on Friday, but there will be no violence tolerated.
All threads will be linked on the main post for easier navigation. This post will serve for the entirety of the block party, which is from Thursday to Sunday. If you want, you can put the date in the subject line, otherwise it is up to you and your threadmates to decide when things take place. All stalls are set up for everyday of the block party. Don't forget to tag yourself in.
Have a good time!

Thanks. Want some?
Of course you didn't. You are free to do as you please.
I only wanted to check in with how things are going for you and your business.
I'll take 'em, but Roxas would just step on them.
[For lack of anything else to do, he stoops to grab an errant ball and starts to bump it into the air with the bat he still carries.]
It's not like you care.
Aw. Roxas so mean.
True enough. I can try, but that would be pointless.
Like Xemnas is one to talk.
[But accurate.
Bounce bounce bounce. He doesn't break a sweat keeping it going.]
So, really. Why are you here?
Okay, so he can't. I can, but he can't.
[A casual gesture follows.]
I said I wanted to see what you were doing. I can see your contribution to the party is an entertaining yet violent activity.
Right-o.
[Stuff your casual gestures.]
Yeah, I'm good at entertaining violence.
no subject
...Have I not said enough to satisfy your piqued curiosity?
no subject
We're not friends. You know you can't recruit me at your little booth. And I doubt you're interested in Struggling. So yeah, I'm curious.
no subject
Why, Roxas. I was not thinking of doing anything of the sort.
[There may have been a sigh within the pause.]
But you are right. We are not friends. I would say we are more like...family.
no subject
Family? You've got to be joking. Why would you and I be anything like family?!
no subject
Funny how it only comes up now...
[He looks away, at the two competitors still struggling against each other.]
Don't tell me you forgot. You were found. And cared for until you were brought up to speed with everything around you.
[Gold eyes lazily fall back upon the Thirteenth.]
...Much like how a father raises his own son.
no subject
One might expect a snappy comeback at this point. A sarcastic reply. Scornful laughter. But for at least fifteen seconds, staring is all Roxas can do, because his brain has completely short-circuited.]
You...are not my father. I don't have a father.
[He takes half a step back, but no further.]
I don't care if you were the one who found me. [And named me.] That doesn't make me anything like your son.
no subject
And it is almost satisfying to see Roxas do this.
The Superior makes no move. A ghost of an empty smile appears.]
You would be surprised with how much we have in common.
no subject
[He's recovering now, the challenge coming immediately. The smile only irritates him further, for all that he's grown up knowing Xemnas' serene responses.]
no subject
You can be a very serious-minded person. Someone who can manage a business and maintain their work ethic. You also have a sense of dedication toward the things that hold great importance to you.
no subject
Besides...he can't argue with that.]
That doesn't make us the same.
no subject
[As dismissive as the tone is, he always left Roxas to mull over everything said between them.]
You know it is true.
no subject
[If he sounds rattled, it's only because Xemnas is talking such nonsense. It can't possibly because that nonsense contains pieces of what at least sound like the truth.]
Are you gonna pay to play or are you done here?
no subject
That depends if you are up for the challenge.
...But I can see you want me to go. There are other booths to visit.
no subject
I can take anything you dish out.
[Especially when he's tempted to start a fight that has nothing to do with the game.]
Whatever. Go where you want.
no subject
The First lets his gaze linger upon the Thirteenth a while longer, languidly wearing the pair of sunglasses after a beat.
With nothing further to say, he turns, belated waving a hand as he walks.]
no subject
Forget about what Xemnas said. No matter how convincing he sounded, that didn't make a difference—anyone can twist words. That doesn't make them true, even if he hadn't been able to come up with a really good counter-argument.
It doesn't bother him. It doesn't.]
